IM CAPITAL graduates its angel investors: SEEDERS and LWAF

BEIRUT: Individuals who use their personal wealth to provide early-stage businesses and bring up valuable and professional experiences graduated Friday, July 6 with SEEDERS MBA, the master class for business angels provided by IM CAPITAL. 

They are known as Angel Investors.

The newly established company in Lebanon, which provides different supporting programs to qualified early-stage businesses, is dedicated to improving access to finance and creating new jobs opportunities.

Under the patronage of Mr. Saad Hariri, the presence of his representative Minister of Telecommunications, and as part of the Lebanese MENA Investment Initiative (MENA –II) funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); the celebration was held in the Grand Serail Beirut. 

Minister Jarrah expressed Prime Minister Hariri's energy about every one of the endeavors conveyed for the assurance of the administration's monetary, social and political vision going for reestablishing a social adjust; whereby women play the dynamic part they merit in the monetary and money related fields, through an investment prompting more development, in accordance with the accomplishment made by Prime Minister Hariri in the Cedar 1 gathering.

Jarrah also thanked USAID for their support in helping to develop Lebanon’s economy and society through investing in the empowerment and support of women, and Berytech, Mr. Maroun Chammas, President of Berytech Foundation, and IM Capital for this valuable project, concluding that this is the first time that things in Lebanon are on the right track towards overcoming the crisis we are facing.” 

Opening the ceremony, Chammas congratulated the graduates on their efforts and hard work to be among the few people contributing in the growth of Lebanon especially considering the high risk on startup ecosystem businesses. 

This one year program aims to professionalize the investment and build it up correctly. The fees are $2,500 per participant, which covers access to workshops, online curriculum and investment tracking tool, deal flow, pitches, follow up and a Go-Beyond certification. 

This year focused on the women entrepreneurs that were graduating. The Lebanese women angel fund (LWAF); is a batch of 23 women that are now angel investors ready to conduct new investments and industries. 

Commenting on the event, U.S. Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Edward White, said: “Today we are not only celebrating a graduation, we also celebrate the creation of two new angel investment funds. With as little as a $15,000 investment, Angel Investors are assisting entrepreneurs in local start-up firms to overcome their challenges.”
