Dubai Airport, the world’s busiest in terms of international air traffic, announced on Saturday the partial resumption of its operations after they were temporarily suspended due to an interception in the airspace above.

The airport stated in a release via X, “We have partially resumed operations starting March 7, with some flights departing from Dubai International and Al Maktoum International – Dubai World Central.”

The airport further directed travelers, “We urge you not to travel to the airport unless your airline has confirmed your flight, as schedules may continue to change,” following an earlier statement from the Dubai government that said a “limited incident had been dealt with due to debris falling from a successful interception by air defenses.”

Earlier, Emirates had announced the suspension of all its flights to and from Dubai “until further notice” following an interception over Dubai Airport, as the UAE said it had thwarted an attack originating from Iran.

The company stated on X that travelers should “not travel to the airport,” while FlightRadar24 showed aircraft circling above the airport in a clear holding pattern.

Limited flights resumed on Monday from Dubai’s main airport, the world’s busiest for international travel, despite daily drone attacks on targets in the UAE.

Dubai’s government had earlier stated on X, “Specialized entities in Dubai handled a limited incident due to debris from a successful air defense interception, with no injuries reported,” confirming that “there is no truth to what is currently being circulated on social media about any incident at Dubai International Airport.”
