UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed begins official visit to Russia
The UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed will begin an official visit to Russia tomorrow, Thursday.
During the visit, Bin Zayed will discuss with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin "various aspects of cooperation and joint work and opportunities for their development, particularly in economic, commercial, investment, energy, and other fields that serve shared development priorities within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries, as well as several regional and international issues of common interest," according to a statement carried by the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
The Kremlin announced that Putin would hold talks tomorrow, Thursday, with Bin Zayed, who will be visiting Russia in an official state visit. The Kremlin's statement stresses that "the presidents will discuss the main aspects of multifaceted bilateral cooperation between the two countries and the current Middle East situation, along with other issues on the international agenda."
Earlier this week, the UAE President received Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian Presidential Envoy for International Economic and Investment Cooperation.

During the meeting, the Russian envoy conveyed greetings and expressed his gratitude to Bin Zayed for hosting the trilateral talks involving the United States, Russia, and Ukraine, as part of efforts to strengthen dialogue and seek diplomatic solutions to the Ukrainian crisis.
The meeting addressed cooperation and joint initiatives between the UAE and Russia, as well as opportunities to further develop them across various fields—particularly in the economic, investment, and development sectors—along with a number of issues of mutual interest.
Russia, Ukraine, and the United States are preparing to hold a new round of talks in Abu Dhabi in the coming days.
Since the meeting in the UAE last week, the deadly Russian airstrikes have not stopped, causing power outages for many Ukrainians amid sub-zero temperatures.
