Prince William visits Saudi Arabia to promote sports, heritage, and sustainability
The British Crown Prince, Prince William, will meet female football players and take part in an esports event in the Saudi capital on Tuesday.
Later, William, who is known for his strong interest in the environment, will visit the historic city of AlUla to learn about heritage preservation efforts, according to Kensington Palace.
The Prince’s programme in Riyadh includes a tour of an urban regeneration project, football exercises with local girls’ teams, and participation in an esports event.
Friendly relations have long existed between the Saudi and British royal families, with Saudi Arabia being one of Britain’s key partners in the Gulf.

The late Queen Elizabeth II hosted members of the Saudi royal family during four official visits.
King Charles III was the last senior member of the British royal family to officially visit Riyadh, when he was Prince of Wales, in February 2014.
