Israel warns Hezbollah of heavy consequences after surge in rocket attacks
Israel warned today, Thursday, that Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem would pay a heavy price following a series of attacks carried out by the group on northern settlements since the start of the Jewish Passover holiday. Israeli Channel 12 reported that Hezbollah has launched more than 100 rocket attacks toward northern Israel since the holiday began.
Direct warning to Naim Qassem
Following this escalation, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz threatened the Hezbollah leader, saying, “You and your associates will pay a heavy price for escalating the firing at Israeli civilians as they celebrate the Passover night.”
He added, “You will not be able to see that anymore, because you will be at the bottom of hell alongside Nasrallah, Khamenei, Sinwar, and all members of the axis of evil whose plans have been thwarted.”
South Lebanon under surveillance
Katz said that Hezbollah and its supporters in Lebanon will pay the highest price, stressing that the ongoing fire will not deter Israel and that both the Israeli army and the home front are strong and determined, and that Israel will not allow a repeat of the events of October 7.
He added that Israel will clear southern Lebanon of Hezbollah and its supporters, that the army will establish full control over the entire Litani area, and that it will remove the group’s ability to operate across all of Lebanon.
Iran unable to stand against Israel
The Israeli defense minister also stated that Hezbollah’s backers in Iran have been crushed and will not be able to help it in the face of the strength and resolve of the Israeli army.
Katz also praised the stance of northern residents and Israeli citizens, calling on everyone to follow Home Front Command instructions to protect lives, and commended the soldiers of the army.
He stressed that the people of Israel are strong and that its army is fierce, adding that Israel will continue striking the regime in Iran and Hezbollah in Lebanon until all its objectives are achieved.
