Commenting on the Israeli airstrike that targeted a hotel in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, early Sunday, Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee stated that “the army carried out a precisely directed strike last night against key leaders of the "Lebanon Corps," affiliated with the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, who were operating in Beirut.”

Adraee added in a post on the “X” platform: “The targeted individuals were working to advance plots against Israel and its citizens from within Lebanese territory, in parallel with the activities of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard in Iran,” claiming that “the Iranian regime systematically operated at the heart of civilian population centers in Iran and Lebanon, exploiting the residents in a ludicrous manner and using them as human shields.”

He stated, “The Lebanon Corps acts as a link between Hezbollah and the Iranian regime and also serves as an entity that supports Hezbollah's armament and military strength building.”

He also claimed that “prior to executing the strike, steps were taken to reduce the likelihood of civilian casualties, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance,” announcing that “the Israeli army will continue to precisely target and eliminate Iranian regime leaders wherever they operate.”

Early Sunday, an Israeli drone targeted an apartment inside the Ramada Hotel in the Raouche area of Beirut, leading to the deaths of “4 people and injuring 10 with minor wounds,” according to an official statement from the Lebanese Ministry of Health.
