Oil prices surge: Brent nears $90 amid Middle East tensions

Global energy markets react as U.S.-Iran conflict sparks fears of supply disruptions, pushing Brent and WTI crude to multi-year highs.

Oil prices rose on Friday as investors continued to assess the impact of the war between the United States and Iran on global energy markets, amid growing concerns over potential supply disruptions stemming from the conflict in the Middle East.

 

 

Brent crude futures, the global benchmark, rose 4.5% to $89.23 a barrel, reaching their highest level in 52 weeks and the highest in nearly two years.

 

Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate (WTI) U.S. futures climbed 6.3% to $86.06 a barrel, marking the highest price since April 2024.
