Dubai unveils "Golden Line" Metro: $9 Billion mega project to redefine urban mobility
New 42-km underground metro line to serve 1.5 million residents and boost connectivity across 15 key districts, marking one of Dubai’s most ambitious transport expansions yet.

UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, announced on Wednesday the “largest transport project in the Emirate of Dubai,” a new metro line that is 42 km long and runs 40 meters underground, passing through 15 strategic areas in Dubai.
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, said: “The Golden Line project will cost 34 billion dirhams and will increase the length of the Dubai Metro network by 35%. It is scheduled to be completed on 09/09/2032.”

He wrote on his official account on the 'X' platform: “Brothers and sisters... today we announce the largest transport project in the Emirate of Dubai, which is a new metro line, 42 km long and 40 meters deep underground, passing through 15 strategic areas in Dubai. It will benefit 1.5 million people and support transportation in 55 major real estate development projects under construction, the Golden Line project.”
