Jumeirah, the global leader in luxury hospitality and part of Dubai Holding, has announced a comprehensive and carefully planned phased renovation program for the iconic Jumeirah Burj Al Arab hotel. The aim is to preserve its rich legacy and distinctive character after more than 25 years of continuous operation.

This architectural landmark will undergo renovation works that enhance its identity and historical significance, while upgrading its distinctive interior design with the highest standards of precision and attention to detail.

Since its opening in 1999, Jumeirah Burj Al Arab has established itself as an architectural and cultural icon of modern luxury. Its sail inspired design has helped shape Dubai’s skyline, and since then the hotel has set new global standards in the hospitality industry, most notably by introducing large scale personal butler service as part of a fully integrated experience that redefined the concept of luxury hospitality.

Thomas Meier, CEO of Jumeirah, confirmed that the Burj Al Arab is not only an architectural landmark, but also a reflection of ambition, craftsmanship, and lasting excellence. He added that for 27 years it has continued to deliver exceptional hospitality experiences with the same passion and world class standards that set it apart from others, noting that the renovation program represents a new chapter in the history of this landmark aimed at preserving its rich legacy.

On his part, Tristan Auer, the interior designer responsible for the renovation program, said that being entrusted with the renovation of the iconic Burj Al Arab, as the first project of this scale in Dubai, means a great deal to him given the landmark’s high status and strong presence in the region. He explained that moving forward with preserving its legacy requires a high level of commitment and attention to the finest details, making it both an honor and a responsibility.

Auer is known for his precise and refined approach, and his work reflects a deep appreciation for heritage, craftsmanship, and detail, while offering a contemporary vision of timeless spaces.
