Saudi Crown Prince meets Pakistan PM in Jeddah to boost ties and discuss regional diplomacy

The Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, met on Wednesday evening in Jeddah with Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, who had arrived earlier in the Kingdom.

 

During the meeting, the prospects for bilateral and close relations between the two countries were reviewed, along with existing cooperation and opportunities to further develop it across various fields.

 

Regional and international developments were also discussed, particularly the situation in the region and updates on talks between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which are hosted by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The importance of continuing diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring stability in the region was emphasized.

 

The Saudi Crown Prince praised the efforts of the Pakistani Prime Minister in promoting growth in Pakistan and strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries. He also commended the efforts of the Pakistani Prime Minister and Field Marshal Asim Munir, the Commander of the Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan.

Sharif announced that he had informed the Saudi Crown Prince about Pakistan’s efforts to enhance peace between the United States and Iran, praising the “wisdom of Saudi leadership in these difficult circumstances.”

 

The Pakistani Prime Minister also affirmed, during the meeting, his country’s unwavering solidarity with Saudi Arabia amid the current regional developments.
