Iran's Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghaddam, announced today, Tuesday, that efforts to end the war in the Middle East are approaching a "critical stage."

The ambassador wrote in a post on the 'X' platform: "The positive and constructive efforts made by Pakistan (...) to stop the war are reaching a critical stage," without providing further details.

This message comes just hours before the deadline set by U.S. President Donald Trump, who has threatened to destroy Iranian infrastructure if no agreement is reached to reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

Tehran rejects "Temporary Truce"

In the first official Iranian response to the Pakistani proposal, Iranian state media reported on Monday that Tehran had rejected the ceasefire plan.

The official IRNA news agency reported that “Iran conveyed its response to Pakistan on the American proposal,” saying that “in this response, composed of ten points, Iran rejected the ceasefire and emphasized the need for a definitive end to the conflict.”

The agency stated that Tehran responded with its own demands, including calling for an end to regional conflicts, establishing a protocol for safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz, reconstruction, and lifting sanctions.
