Escalation in southern Lebanon: Israeli airstrikes and Hezbollah strikes shake the region

Deadly raids, drone attacks, and cross-border rocket fire mark a tense Monday as southern Lebanon and northern Israel face renewed conflict.

Escalation in southern Lebanon: Israeli airstrikes and Hezbollah strikes shake the region

The Sayyid al‑Shuhada complex in the southern suburbs of Beirut after it was targeted by an Israeli strike yesterday, Sunday (AFP).

Southern Lebanon witnessed scattered Israeli airstrikes early Monday, causing several casualties and injuries, alongside Hezbollah operations against Israeli positions.

Southern Lebanon

Israeli warplanes and drones have conducted several raids since dawn today, targeting a number of towns in southern Lebanon. The attacks were distributed as follows:

🛑 A series of violent raids on the towns of Mashghara, Sahmar, Qlayaa, and Zlayya, resulting in the destruction of several homes, with initial reports of two dead and five injured in Mashghara.

🛑 A raid on Ali Al-Taher forest between the towns of Kfar Tibnit and Nabatiyeh Al-Fawqa.

🛑 An Israeli raid targeted a house in the town of Kfar Roummane in the Nabatiyeh district.

🛑 The Jaara Pharmacy building in the Al-Maslakh neighborhood of Nabatiyeh city was hit by two raids, resulting in the complete destruction of the building, which housed dozens of shops and residential apartments.

🛑 An Israeli plane targeted a car in the town of Toul near Fakhreddine wells, resulting in the death of the father and mother and injuring their two children (aged 9 and 15).

🛑 The town of Kfar Roummane was targeted by an Israeli drone raid on a car, resulting in four fatalities.

🛑 Raids on the towns of Deir Al-Zahrani, Jibchit, Harouf, Sarbin, Haris, Al-Mansouri, Burj Rahal, Yohmor Al-Shaqif, Safad El-Battikh and Ansariyeh.

🛑 Two raids by war drones targeted a pickup truck in the town of Maifadoun and a motorcycle in the town of Toul.

The southern towns also witnessed intense drone surveillance by the Israeli forces over all areas, along with low-flying warplanes.

Israeli army

The Israeli army announced this morning that it targeted Hezbollah rocket launchers and weapons depots in Lebanon over the past days, emphasizing that it continues to strike the party's infrastructure and strengthen the front defense line.

The Israeli army spokesman, Avichay Adraee, highlighted “the destruction of various infrastructure and weapons depots hidden in the heart of civilian areas across Lebanon.”

Hezbollah operations

On the other hand, Hezbollah announced this morning that it carried out several operations against Israeli targets, including:

🛑 Targeting the vicinity of the Marj site opposite the border town of Merkabah.

🛑 Targeting a newly established Israeli army command headquarters in the town of Taybeh.

🛑 Targeting the Sanat Jin base north of Acre with swarms of attack drones.

🛑 Targeting the settlements of Liman, Hurfeish, Shlomi, and Nahariyya with rocket salvos.

🛑 Bombarding the city of Nahariyya with rockets.
