Football legends featured in Lego’s latest collections
The Danish toy company Lego will continue its expansion into the sports market this year through collaborations with four of the world’s most famous football players.
Sets of building blocks celebrating Vinícius Júnior, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, and Cristiano Ronaldo will be available ahead of the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The company has created a total of seven sets, four of which feature letter-shaped designs representing each football player and are priced at 29 dollars, along with display models of Ronaldo and Messi priced at 79 dollars.
It has also created a three-dimensional wall panel of Messi, the 2022 World Cup winner, made of 1,427 pieces commemorating his famous celebration, priced at 179 dollars. Each player will also have their own miniature figure included with the more affordable sets.

Messi said, "Like football, playing with Lego is about building and rebuilding, trying new things, learning from mistakes, and celebrating successes. I love how the Lego sets capture my moments on the pitch in a fun and creative way."
Real Madrid player Vinícius Júnior said, "It doesn’t matter where you come from or what language you speak. People connect through creativity, and that is really powerful. I didn’t have much growing up, but I would play with Lego blocks at school, for example. Like many kids, I loved building things, creating my own world, and using my imagination. That stays with you, even as you get older."
Lego, which was founded almost 100 years ago and remains privately owned, is placing a big bet on the World Cup. The company launched a set inspired by the trophy in March.
