Hello to my friends Farida and Fares, and to all the young and old watching me now!
I see amazement in your eyes, and questions swirling in your minds…
Do you know what the winter season is?
In Lebanon, winter begins on December 21 and lasts until March 20.
During this season, the weather turns cold, the days grow shorter, the nights stretch longer, and rain and snow grace the mountains!
But… why do we feel cold in winter?
Rooster of Annahar:
The reason is simple—and exciting!
In this season, the sun’s rays hit at an angle, spreading out and losing strength.
Imagine the lamp in your room:
When we shine it straight, it lights up brightly. But when we tilt it… the light weakens!
This is exactly what the sun does in winter—it doesn’t warm the Earth as well… and that’s why we feel cold!
