The Dubai Grand Prix, the third and final stop of the World Powerboat Championship in the 'XCAT' category, kicks off tomorrow, Friday, and will continue until next Sunday, with anticipation building for the crowning of the 2026 season world champions.
All participating teams have completed their preparations by conducting trainings in the waters of Dubai Sea, with official trainings scheduled to start on Friday. These will be followed by the qualifying race for the starting positions, then the first main race, and its award ceremony. On Saturday, there will be official trainings and qualifying races, concluding with the final official training on the coming Sunday. After this, the excitement will climax with the decisive second main race to determine the season champions, followed by the award ceremony.
The Victory Team, led by the duo Salem Al Adidi and Eisa Al Ali aboard boat number 7, tops the participation list. They currently lead the World Championship standings and are aiming to steer the team to its seventh victory in history.
Teams from Britain, Sweden, Kuwait, Norway, Italy, Sharjah, Fujairah, and FAZ MARINE are also participating.

The organizing committee has inaugurated the tournament village at Kite Beach in Dubai, located behind the 'Sunset Mall ' in Jumeirah, alongside representatives of these teams and welcoming fans eager to follow the competitions on Dubai's beaches. This event is considered one of the major sporting events in Dubai and the United Arab Emirates at this time of the year.
Mohammed Hareb, CEO of the Dubai International Marine Club, confirmed that the efforts of the working teams successfully completed the logistical operations required to receive participating teams from inside and outside the country, and accomplished all necessary arrangements to ensure the readiness of speedboats in their positions for the competitions. He elaborated on the preparation of the event site to match Dubai's renowned global stature in hosting major sporting events, particularly marine sports, over decades during which our teams, particularly the Victory Team, have achieved enduring international milestones. We look forward to continuing this success and winning the title this season after a strong performance in the last round in Kuwait.
