Three airstrikes early Sunday morning targeted two military sites of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq.

The Popular Mobilization Forces reported that their sites in Nineveh province were hit by three airstrikes at dawn on Sunday while carrying out official duties.

The first strike hit the headquarters of the 14th Brigade under the Nineveh Operations Command of the Popular Mobilization Forces, while the second and third strikes targeted a headquarters of the fourth regiment of the same brigade in the province.

Earlier, Iraqi media reported that two Popular Mobilization Forces sites in Salah al-Din and Mosul were targeted by airstrikes.

A security source, speaking to Shafaq News Agency, said that three airstrikes targeted an alternative site of the "Kata'ib Sayyid al-Shuhada" in the Rashidiya area, behind Ibn Sina Hospital, north of Mosul, the center of Nineveh province.

He added that the attack caused no human casualties and was limited to material damage at the targeted site, noting that security forces cordoned off the area and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances.

Since the outbreak of the war, launched by an American-Israeli attack on Iran a month ago, airstrikes attributed to the United States and Israel have targeted Popular Mobilization Forces bases and sites of Iranian-backed Iraqi factions.
