No sooner had minutes passed after Hezbollah announced the launch of operations named "The Devouring Wind" than the Israeli army responded with a message in Arabic containing the phrase "an eye for an eye," marking a new escalation in the war of exchanged messages between the two sides.

 

 

 

The Israeli army attacked 10 buildings in the southern suburbs of Beirut, claiming they were used as "terrorist headquarters," including "intelligence centers and a headquarters belonging to the Radwan Force unit."

Israel also expanded its target range to the heart of the capital, carrying out raids in the Ramlet al-Bayda area as well as Aramoun, noting that these areas had been targeted before.

 



 

 

In a related context, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported, citing sources, that the Israeli army added 18 new sites in southern Lebanon. The Israeli Broadcasting Authority, also quoting sources, reported that associates of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are pressing to strengthen the Israeli army's presence in Lebanon.

French President Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday evening called on Israel to refrain from launching "any ground attack on Lebanon," following a "lengthy conversation" with his Lebanese counterpart Joseph Aoun.

 

 

Macron posted on Platform X that "Hezbollah made a grave error by involving Lebanon in the confrontation with Israel. It must halt its attacks immediately," adding that Israel must "refrain from launching any ground attack on Lebanon."

 

Yedioth Ahronoth: Israel Applies the Gaza Model in Lebanon

Meanwhile, the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported on Thursday, citing military sources, that Israel is shifting its defensive strategy in Lebanon to follow the Gaza model.

 

It explained that Israel’s goal is to push the fighting deep into Lebanese territory and clear it from within, similar to the operations carried out in Gaza, which allowed residents of Israeli communities near the border to continue their daily lives.

 

The newspaper noted, quoting Israeli officials, that some Hezbollah sites near the Lebanese border were rebuilt under the cover of a ceasefire.

 

It added that the campaign against Hezbollah will not be short and will not adhere to a fixed timeline, stating, “We are applying the Gaza model in Lebanon.”

 

Victims of Aramoun and Ramlet al-Bayda

 

Field-wise, the Ministry of Public Health's Emergency Operations Center announced in a statement that the death toll from the Israeli raid on the Ramlet al-Bayda area in Beirut rose to eight martyrs and 31 injured, while the preliminary toll of the raids on Aramoun amounted to three martyrs and one injured child.
