Israel steps up attacks in southern Lebanon, casualties reported (photos)
Israel stepped up its attacks in southern Lebanon on Sunday, with intensive drone operations reported across several areas.
The Israeli army said in a statement that it had targeted “three Hezbollah operatives with airstrikes in various areas of southern Lebanon.”
Jouaiya
An Israeli drone struck a vehicle in the town of Jouaiya at noon, amid reports of one casualty.

Safad al-Battikh
An Israeli drone also targeted a vehicle near the outskirts of Safad al-Battikh in southern Lebanon. The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health confirmed that “the airstrike resulted in the martyrdom of one citizen”.

Yater
Earlier, the Ministry reported that an Israeli airstrike targeting a motorcycle in Yater, in the Bint Jbeil district, killed one citizen and injured another.
Israel’s Army Radio noted that this marked the first assassination of a Hezbollah operative in Lebanon in three weeks, since the killing of Haytham Ali Tabatabai.
Shebaa
Earlier Sunday morning, an Israeli drone targeted an excavator in the al-Wastani neighborhood of Shebaa in southern Lebanon.

What happened in Yanouh?
In a separate development, the Lebanese army said: “On December 13, 2025, it conducted a thorough inspection of a building in Yanouh, with the owner’s consent, as part of coordination with the Supervisory Committee for the Cessation of Hostilities (Mechanism) and the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). No weapons or ammunition were found.”
In its statement, the army added that after it left the site, amid ongoing Israeli attacks, a threat was received to strike the same building. A patrol immediately returned, re-inspected the site, and again found no weapons or ammunition. The patrol remained in the area to prevent any targeting.
“The army command praises the trust and cooperation of residents during the operation,” the statement concluded.
