65% of UAE holiday shoppers plan to give digital gifts this Christmas, Kaspersky survey finds
A new survey by Kaspersky reveals that digital presents are gaining popularity among UAE shoppers for the 2025/2026 holiday season.
Streaming service subscriptions and gaming credits top the list of virtual gifts, while younger consumers (ages 18–34) are leading the shift toward online gifting.
The survey shows that 63% of younger respondents plan to purchase digital gifts, with nearly half already having done so. In contrast, older consumers (55+) still prefer physical gifts, with 46% favoring tradition.
Entertainment options like Netflix, Spotify, and gaming subscriptions were the most popular choices, followed by online courses and creative software.
Marina Titova, Vice President for Consumer Business in Kaspersky, commented: “It's heartening to see that interest in cybersecurity solutions is growing, as this reflects a deeper understanding that protecting our loved ones' digital lives has become an essential form of care and responsibility. This shift indicates that now cybersecurity isn't just about protecting your own data—it's about creating safer digital space for those we care about.“
