Trump declares total destruction of Iran, claims unmatched U.S. firepower
U.S. President Donald Trump announced, “We are destroying the terrorist regime in Iran completely—militarily, economically, and in every other way.”
Trump wrote on Truth Social: “The Iranian navy is gone, their air force no longer exists, and their missiles, drones, and everything they possess are being wiped out. Their leaders have been erased from the face of the Earth.”
He continued: “We have unmatched firepower, unlimited ammunition, and plenty of time. So watch what happens to these mentally unstable scum today.”
He added: “For 47 years, they have been killing innocent people all over the world. Now, as the forty-seventh president of the United States, I am killing them. And what a great honor it is to do so.”
Earlier, Trump announced on Thursday that the war on Iran is proceeding “very quickly,” even as Iran’s new Supreme Leader pledged revenge in his first statement.
At the White House, Trump said, “The situation with Iran is developing very quickly. It is going well, and our military is unmatched.”
He added, while attending an event for Women’s History Month with First Lady Melania, “They are truly a state of terror and hate, and they are paying a heavy price now,” according to AFP.
In recent days, Trump has made conflicting statements about the progress of the war. While he said, “We have won” against Iran and that the war could end “very soon,” he also emphasized the need to continue the strikes.
