“Iran is trying to hold the world hostage,” says US Secretary of State Rubio
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio accused Iran on Monday of trying to "hold the world hostage" by launching missiles and drones at countries in the Middle East in response to the US and Israeli attacks on it.
Rubio said, "I think we are all currently seeing the threat this religious regime poses to the region and the world. They are trying to hold the world hostage."

The US Secretary of State also emphasized that "we are committed to bringing Americans held abroad back home."
He added, "We are working to destroy Iran’s capabilities."
Today, Iran launched its first wave of missiles and drones toward Israel and Gulf countries since Mojtaba Khamenei succeeded his father, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, as Supreme Leader following his death on the first day of the war.
