British Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed on Monday that the Strait of Hormuz requires careful study and a feasible plan to ensure maritime security, emphasizing the need to de-escalate tensions in the region.
He stated in a series of comments that the government's top priority is to protect British interests, denying any assessment indicating that Britain is targeted by Iran.

Yesterday, British Housing Minister Steve Reed said that U.S. President Donald Trump "expressed his personal stance" when he threatened to destroy Iranian power stations if Tehran did not fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours.
In response to a question about Britain's stance on Trump's deadline, Reed told Sky News: "The American president is fully capable of expressing himself and defending what he says... We will not be drawn into war, but we will protect our interests in the region. We will work with our allies to de-escalate the situation."
