China and Saudi Arabia agree to enhance coordination on regional and international issues
China and Saudi Arabia have agreed to enhance communication and coordination on regional and international issues, with Beijing praising Riyadh's role in diplomatic efforts in the Middle East, according to statements released following a meeting between the foreign ministers of the two countries on Sunday.

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi is conducting a tour of three Middle Eastern countries, which began in the United Arab Emirates and is expected to conclude in Jordan. He met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in Riyadh on Sunday.
The joint statement, published by by China’s official Xinhua News Agency, did not specify the nature of the issues on which the two countries will enhance coordination, but it indicated China’s support for Saudi Arabia and Iran in developing and strengthening their relations.
The statement issued today said that “China appreciates Saudi Arabia’s leading role and its efforts to promote security and stability at both the regional and international levels.”
