The British government revealed plans on Monday to ban Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a foreign supported threat to national security, as part of a bill that would also ban other groups, some of which are linked to Russia.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that under the bill, which will be presented to Parliament this week, “anyone found to support or assist these groups will face a penalty of up to 14 years in prison.”

The bill also includes the Russian military intelligence affiliated “Volunteer Corps”, in addition to an Iran linked group that London accuses of being behind attacks on Jewish interests.
