The Israeli army announced today, Friday, that it carried out an attack yesterday on infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.

In a statement, it said: “In precise airstrikes carried out by the air force under the direction of the 91st Division, the army targeted yesterday around 10 pieces of infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in the areas of Bint Jbeil, Beit Yahoun, Kounin, and Braashit in southern Lebanon. These infrastructures were used by the group to advance plans against army forces operating in the security zone.”

The Israeli army considered that “these raids came in response to the targeting of our forces inside the security zone by Hezbollah, in an additional violation of the agreement.”

It also claimed in its statement that “in addition, during the hours of Friday night, forces of the 91st Division detected a cell of Hezbollah fighters transporting combat equipment using a truck near the security zone in southern Lebanon. Upon detection, the air force attacked the truck to remove the threat to our forces,” adding: “following the strike, secondary explosions were observed indicating the presence of combat equipment inside the truck.”
