Syrian state television also reported that “a number of injuries occurred as a result of the explosion.”
In recent weeks, several injuries have been reported among Syrian forces due to terrorist bombings targeting military points in various regions of Syria.
Syria, under its new leadership, is facing one of its major challenges, namely terrorism, and has recently joined the international coalition to combat ISIS.
Authorities previously reported the death of a soldier on May 19 following a car bomb explosion in Damascus near a building affiliated with the Ministry of Defense, which coincided with the army’s dismantling of an explosive device at the time.
In June 2025, a suicide bombing inside a church in the Al-Duailaa neighborhood in Damascus killed 25 people. The attack was claimed by an extremist Sunni group, while authorities attributed it to ISIS.
