Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Wednesday that Israeli forces will remain in the "security zones" in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza without specifying a timetable for withdrawal.

Speaking during a memorial ceremony for soldiers killed in the 2006 war with Lebanon, Katz said, "The Israeli military will remain in the security zones in Lebanon, Syria, and Gaza for an indefinite period in order to protect our citizens and communities from jihadist elements."
