MP Fadlallah warns of internal strife, reaffirms “Resistance” role in Lebanon
Hezbollah-aligned MP Hassan Fadlallah says authorities are fueling internal conflict and insists resistance and its arms will continue to “protect the country and liberate the land.”
Member of the “Loyalty to the Resistance” bloc, MP Hassan Fadlallah, said that “our destiny as a community and environment is to remain revolutionaries and resistors against occupation and injustice,” describing this as part of a history marked by sacrifices for “dignity, honor, and freedom.”
He added that “we were forced to bear arms to defend our existence and liberate our land” due to the absence of a state that, in his view, fulfilled its responsibilities. He further stated that “the authorities had no problem selling the South and its people,” and accused them of absolving the occupation of its “past and future crimes,” arguing that the state is attempting to “tilt national balances with American support” and marginalize an entire sect, “offering it as a free gift to Netanyahu,” adding: “This is akin to the devil dreaming of heaven.”

He continued that “our weapon is what protects us, liberates our land and defends our existence,” and said that recent developments would be “an additional incentive to acquire all the means of strength,” adding that “those without weapons will buy them.” He also said that “generations of youth are demanding today to train on weapons to defend their people’s rights and existence,” citing what he described as lost hope in building a protective state due to the occupation’s actions and the authorities’ practices.
He viewed that “what the authorities have done is a sedition to push the country into chaos and shift the conflict from being against the enemy to an internal conflict, which is the ugliest function of a ruling authority. We will remain the most concerned for our country and our national army. Those in power are merely individuals whose terms will expire, and they will leave, while the resistance, its weapons, and its men will continue to liberate the land and protect the people.”
He concluded that “the Agreement of Humiliation and Shame signed by the authorities will neither see the light nor be implemented,” adding that “our hands will remain on the trigger” and that they will continue their path of resistance to achieve their goals, exercising what he described as a legitimate right to defend their people and preserve the blood of martyrs. He said they possess internal elements of strength enabling them to confront all conspiracies, “regardless of their cunning.”
