Bahrain intercepts aerial attacks as Muharraq residential building damaged amid escalation

Air defenses shot down multiple aerial threats, while officials reported damage in Muharraq and condemned renewed attacks as regional tensions intensify following U.S.–Iran exchanges.

The Bahrain Defence Force announced on Sunday that its air defense systems intercepted several aerial attacks, confirming that targeting civilians and private property constitutes a “blatant violation of international humanitarian law.”

 

The Bahraini Ministry of Interior reported that a residential building in Muharraq Governorate was damaged, without any casualties, as a result of the “Iranian attack.” Damaged residential building in Muharraq Governorate (Bahraini Interior).

For its part, the Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the renewed “Iranian aggression on its territory,” calling for international action to stop these repeated attacks.

These developments come amid ongoing regional escalation, following U.S. strikes targeting Iranian military sites, which Washington said were in response to Iranian attacks on navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran, in turn, announced “targeting American sites in Kuwait and Bahrain.”
