Lebanon mobilizes security forces after protests erupt over Israel agreement
Security agencies ordered to prevent unrest and identify offenders as Hezbollah supporters take to Beirut streets in protest of the newly announced Israel–Lebanon agreement.
The Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, Judge Ahmad Rami Hajj, issued a judicial instruction addressed to the Director General of the Internal Security Forces, Major General Raed Abdullah, the Director General of General Security, Major General Hassan Choucair, the Director General of State Security, Major General Edgar Lawandos, and the Intelligence Directorate of the Lebanese Army. Through this instruction, he tasked them with taking the necessary security measures and procedures to prevent acts of riot, attacks on public and private property, road blocking, obstruction of citizens’ movement, and to prevent all actions that could undermine public security.

The judge Hajj also requested that the security agencies work on identifying the offenders, in preparation for taking the appropriate legal measures against them.
Supporters of Hezbollah also took to the streets of Beirut and the southern suburb on Friday night, protesting the agreement announced between Israel and Lebanon.
