Trump hails “historic” Iran deal as oil falls and markets surge amid Middle East peace claims
Speaking at a major Washington exhibition, Trump says the agreement with Iran could reshape global security, unlock the Strait of Hormuz, and usher in unprecedented economic growth.
US President Donald Trump said today, Thursday, during a speech at the opening ceremony of the “Great American States Exhibition” at the National Mall in Washington, that the agreement signed last week with Iran was “historic” and aims to end the conflict and fully open the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump said he achieved what no previous American president could, affirming that Iran will never possess a nuclear weapon.

He added that the region is on the verge of achieving peace in the Middle East for the first time in 3,000 years.
Trump also noted that stock markets and retirement accounts have seen significant gains since the agreement was signed, while oil prices have seen a sharp decline today.
