The European Union Aviation Safety Agency recommended that airlines continue to avoid the airspace of Iran, Iraq, and Lebanon, and to maintain caution throughout the entire region despite the framework agreement between Washington and Tehran, citing the possibility of violations.

The agency said today, Wednesday, that it will extend its guidance on conflict zones in the region until July 1.

It added that short-term violations may still occur during the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, particularly in and around the Strait of Hormuz and in the adjacent airspace.

The agency also pointed to the fragility of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah, which creates the possibility of military activity affecting Lebanon’s airspace.

It further stressed that all aircraft operators must exercise caution and consider potential risks when operating in the airspace of Bahrain, Kuwait, Israel, Jordan, Qatar, Oman, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia.
