Israeli strike hits Qanaarit near Sidon, leaves homes in ruins as rescue efforts continue
Civil Defense teams search through rubble amid reports of casualties and missing residents following a devastating airstrike.
Despite the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon on Friday, intense Israeli airstrikes resumed on several towns in southern Lebanon, extending to the Beqaa region.
The Lebanese Army announced the martyrdom of a soldier on the Kfar Roummane–Nabatieh road.
In a statement, the Lebanese Army said: “Brutal Israeli attacks on Lebanon continue after the latest escalation targeted wide areas in the south, reaching the Beqaa, resulting in more martyrs and wounded and causing significant destruction to property.”
It continued: “In this context, a hostile Israeli raid targeted a soldier on the Kfar Roummane–Nabatieh road, leading to his martyrdom.”
The statement added: “It has become clear that the continued brutal Israeli attacks aim to obstruct any solution that would allow the restoration of stability in Lebanon.”

Field Developments
Since dawn today, the Israeli army has carried out a series of heavy raids on several towns in southern Lebanon and the Beqaa, causing numerous casualties despite the ceasefire agreement that has been in place since Friday.

Israeli warplanes launched raids targeting the towns of Kfarjouz, Kfar Roummane, Al-Numairiyah, Shoukine, and Arabsalim in the Nabatieh district, in addition to a series of strikes on the Rihan heights in the Jezzine district. Villages across the Nabatieh district were subjected to a ring of fire.

Israeli raids also targeted the Hama Labaya area in the Western Beqaa, while Sohmor Square came under Israeli attack.

Upcoming Negotiations
The Israeli army announced that “Hezbollah launched more than 50 projectiles at its forces in southern Lebanon overnight.”
It added that “stability in Lebanon and Israel will be achieved if Hezbollah ceases violating the ceasefire.”
