The first container destined for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia departed from Beirut Port following Riyadh’s decision to lift the ban on Lebanese exports, a move described as a boost to the Lebanese economy and a step toward strengthening relations between the two countries.

In this context, Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam affirmed that Lebanon “values its deep historical relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” noting that the decision to lift the ban “supports Lebanon across various sectors.”

Salam also stressed that Lebanon would remain among the first countries committed to ensuring the safety and security of its brethren.

For his part, the Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon said that the resumption of Lebanese exports to the Kingdom “confirms Saudi Arabia’s support for Lebanon and its rejection of any attempt to use Lebanon as a platform to harm its neighbors.” He added that the decision “reflects the Kingdom’s support for Lebanon’s stability and sovereignty.”

Earlier this morning, Salam received the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Dosari, on a protocol visit marking the commencement of his duties.

Salam welcomed Ambassador Al-Dosari to his second home, Lebanon, and wished him success and prosperity in his mission.
