South Lebanon faces deadly wave of strikes as casualty toll climbs sharply

Heavy Israeli airstrikes and shelling hit multiple towns across the south and Bekaa, pushing the war’s toll to nearly 4,000 dead and over 12,000 injured.

Despite the implementation of the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah on Friday, Israeli airstrikes and shelling continue to target towns in southern Lebanon.

 

 

According to official Lebanese figures, the number of casualties from Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon since the night has risen to five.

In the latest developments, Israeli warplanes launched airstrikes targeting the towns of Kfar Jouz, Kfar Roummane, Al-Numairiyah, Shoukine, and Arabsalim in the Nabatieh district, as well as a series of strikes on the Rihan Heights in the Jezzine district.

At dawn, the strikes targeted Nabatieh Al-Fawqa. Reportedly, there were several casualties.

Israeli artillery shelling also targeted the towns of Kfar Tibnit, Harouf, Kfar Roummane, Kfar Jouz, Habbouch, Nabatieh Al-Fawqa, and Mayfadoun in southern Lebanon.

In this context, reports suggested that Israeli military vehicles advanced from Kfar Tibnit toward Ali Taher Hill under heavy artillery cover, alongside Apache helicopter fire in the surrounding area.

Friday Strikes

 

 

Yesterday, Friday, the south and the Bekaa experienced one of the most intense waves of shelling in weeks, as Israeli strikes targeted the city of Nabatieh and the towns of Doueir, Sharqiya, Kfarsir, Deir Ez-Zahrani, Rihan, Sujud, and Qatranieh, as well as several villages in Iqlim al-Tuffah and Jezzine, alongside strikes on Baalbek and western Bekaa.

 

 

The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 47 people were killed and around 97 were injured in the Israeli strikes.

 

 

It also indicated that the number of casualties from the Israeli war since March 2nd has risen to 3,980 and the number of injured to 12,001.
