Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian praised the “historic” memorandum of understanding with the United States, aimed at ending the war in the Middle East. The agreement, signed remotely by him and his American counterpart Donald Trump, paves the way for negotiations intended to reach a final agreement.
Bezekian shared a copy of the memorandum on social media platforms, showing both his signature and Trump’s, along with the signature of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, whose country mediated between the parties.
The Iranian president described the document as “a historic document and a message from a strong Iran: Peace will be achieved under mutual respect.”
Donald Trump, in turn, attacked critics of the understanding he signed with Iran to end the war in the Middle East, who viewed it as an advantage for the Islamic Republic.
