Lebanese parliament speaker praises Iran–US Memorandum Efforts
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri welcomes the deal, crediting regional mediators and emphasizing its provisions on Lebanon’s sovereignty and a halt to Israeli attacks.
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri praised on Monday morning the memorandum of understanding announced between Iran and the United States, noting the efforts and initiatives made by Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt to reach this understanding, which he said “establishes, through its provisions, the foundations of security and stability in the region, including Lebanon.”

Berri also expressed “thanks and appreciation to Iran and the United States and their leadership for their commitment and insistence on including in the agreed memorandum a fundamental and binding clause to stop the Israeli aggression against Lebanon, in a way that preserves its sovereignty over its entire territory, and in a manner that does not contradict the independence and freedom of its national sovereign decision, and that avoids falling into the trap set by the Israeli political leadership under Netanyahu.”
