Intense diplomatic movements continue regarding the anticipated agreement between the United States and Iran, amid conflicting reports over the signing date and the possibility of reaching a final understanding.

A source informed Reuters that “Qatari negotiators headed to Tehran on Sunday morning as part of efforts to finalize an agreement to end the war between the United States and Iran.”

Leaders of the United States and Pakistan are expected to sign a framework agreement today to end the war that broke out more than three months ago, though Tehran has questioned the timing amid opposition from hardline conservatives in Iran.

ISNA reported that “Qatar sent an advisor to its foreign minister,” while Tasnim stated that the visit aims to “discuss the latest developments regarding the ongoing diplomatic process.”

Tehran Reviews Its Final Decision

In a related development, Iranian media reported, citing an official source, that “Tehran's final decision regarding the framework agreement with Washington is still under review,” reflecting continued uncertainty over the negotiation path.

Discrepancies in Stances and 'Unsettled' Timing

U.S. President Donald Trump had announced that the agreement was expected to be signed today, to be followed by the opening of the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation, describing it as part of post-agreement arrangements.

In contrast, Tehran denied this timing, confirming through its Foreign Ministry that “the agreement will not be signed on Sunday,” while its spokesperson stressed the need to wait for an exact date, likely to be set in the coming days.

Divergent positions also emerged from statements by Pakistan, which is leading mediation efforts, as it spoke of reaching an agreement within 24 hours, while Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi expressed optimism about the possibility of completing the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding” once the final stages are concluded.
