According to Israel's Channel 12, the recent Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon were intended to send a message to Iran that its threats would not deter Israel from continuing its military operations in the Lebanese arena.

The channel added that the Israeli military intends to expand its operations in southern Lebanon, while the Israeli security establishment believes that Lebanon has once again become the primary battlefield following the recent halt in the exchange of strikes between Israel and Iran.

The channel also quoted an Israeli security source as saying that current assessments indicate that the recent escalation with Iran will not be the last confrontation between the two sides. The source added that "we have entered a phase of repeated rounds," suggesting that the conflict could continue through successive waves of escalation in the coming period.

Meanwhile, Channel 14 reported that the security cabinet had decided that any rocket launched from Lebanon toward Israel would be met with an attack on Beirut, without the need for additional political approval.

Maariv also quoted an Israeli military source as saying, "If it becomes necessary to strike Lebanon or the southern suburbs of Beirut now, we will do so."
