US President Donald Trump indicated on Tuesday that he may have an “idea” for reaching an agreement with Iran within a few days.

He added, in remarks made before boarding Air Force One at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, “We hope to reach a great deal with Iran and we will not allow it to have a nuclear weapon.” He said he does not blame Netanyahu because “Israel was bombed and my call with him was great.”

Trump also expressed his belief that “things will calm down in the region because both sides agreed to a ceasefire.”

In a separate context, Trump spoke about the crash of a US aircraft near the Strait of Hormuz, confirming that “the two pilots of the downed aircraft are in good condition,” adding that “the United States will issue a report on the incident today.”

The New York Times had reported, citing two informed sources, that a US Army Apache attack helicopter crashed near the Strait of Hormuz on Monday, and its two-person crew was safely rescued.
