The Israeli Channel 12 reported, citing an interview with American President Donald Trump, today, Monday, that he "succeeded in mitigating the intensity of the Israeli strike that was being prepared against Iran amid the recent escalation of regional tensions."

According to the channel, Trump said: "He conveyed a direct message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating that he does not want a new war to break out in the region," stressing "the need to avoid slipping into a wide confrontation that could have serious repercussions."

Trump added that his intervention "contributed to reducing the scope of the strike," considering that "crisis management at this stage requires a high degree of caution, especially given the intertwining of regional fronts."

Earlier today, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated that Israel launched a "historic attack" a year ago against what he described as Iran's attempt to develop nuclear capabilities threatening Israel, noting that "the Iranian regime backed down from attacking us after our response to it," warning that if it is repeated "there will be stronger responses."
