Israeli push toward Nabatieh raises tensions in southern Lebanon amid ongoing operations
Reports say Israel is intensifying ground advances and using advanced surveillance tactics, as military pressure mounts in a key Hezbollah stronghold.
The Hebrew website “Walla” revealed on Sunday that the commander of Israel’s Northern Command is pushing to dismantle Hezbollah’s infrastructure in Nabatieh, southern Lebanon.
In this context, according to the site, the Israeli army has begun ground operations on the outskirts of Nabatieh.
“Walla” also reported that the Israeli army is deploying robots to detect explosives and identify Hezbollah cells in the area.

The site added that the Israeli military views the fall of Nabatieh as a strategic blow that could significantly weaken Hezbollah.
Earlier, on Saturday, media reports said the Israeli army launched a new ground operation, advancing toward Mayfadoun and Kfartebnit in an attempt to seize the Al-Taher hills.
Israeli airstrikes have continued across various areas in southern Lebanon since the initial ceasefire was announced on April 16 and subsequently extended twice.
After the fourth round of Lebanese–Israeli negotiations under American auspices, held last Tuesday and Wednesday, a joint statement from Lebanon, the United States, and Israel announced an agreement to implement a ceasefire between the two sides.
