President Aoun condemns attack on Lebanese Army, calls for international action and accountability
Israeli strike on Khardali–Nabatieh road kills Lebanese Army officers and soldier amid escalating tensions in the South despite ongoing diplomatic efforts to restore stability and secure a ceasefire
The President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, strongly condemned the Israeli attack that targeted a patrol of the Lebanese Army on the Khardali–Nabatieh road this morning, which resulted in the martyrdom of two officers and one soldier.
They joined the convoy of those who preceded them among the military and civilian martyrs, including children, women, ambulance and rescue personnel, and journalists, who have given their lives to the cause of the South, bearing witness with their pure blood to the cherished land of the South.

The President extended his deepest condolences to the leadership of the Lebanese Army and to the families of the martyrs, praising the sacrifices of the two officer martyrs, the soldier, and all other fallen servicemen who are paying with their lives for the defense of the homeland and its sovereignty. He affirmed that Lebanon will not be lenient in protecting its land and its people, and that these attacks will not deter it from upholding its full national rights.
He called on the international community to assume its responsibilities and put an end to these repeated attacks, and to ensure respect for the relevant international resolutions, in a way that preserves Lebanon’s security and stability.
In a separate development, an Israeli airstrike targeted a military vehicle on the Kfartebnit–Khardali road (Nabatieh), resulting in the martyrdom of two officers, holding the ranks of brigadier and captain, and one soldier.
