Last night, Le Drian met with the former president of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, and the president of the Progressive Socialist Party, MP Taymour Jumblatt, at a dinner held in their honor at the French embassy in Beirut, attended by Wael Abu Faour, a member of the "Democratic Gathering," and the French ambassador to Lebanon, Hervé Magro.

The meeting reaffirmed the need for full commitment to the ceasefire, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from all Lebanese territories, and ensuring the safe and dignified return of the people of the south to their towns and villages.

The attendees also emphasized that the Lebanese state must fulfill its duties towards the displaced by establishing adequate shelters to help create the appropriate conditions for the launch of the next school year and ensure students’ right to education.

Additionally, Jumblatt and Hezbollah president expressed their appreciation for France's supportive role in Lebanon and thanked France for its ongoing efforts to support Lebanon's internal stability and strengthen the unity of its people and institutions.
