The Pentagon pointed out that it welcomes the commitment of the Israeli and Lebanese armies to these “historic efforts,” considering the Israeli-Lebanese security meeting a step toward achieving Trump’s vision for peace in the region.

It continued: “We look forward to the resumption of Israeli-Lebanese meetings soon to continue working on the security pathway.”

Washington welcomed the talks, describing them as constructive between the Lebanese and Israeli military.

Deputy Secretary of Defense Elbridge Colby said on the “X” platform: “Today at the Pentagon, I hosted military delegations from Israel and Lebanon for the security track supporting the ongoing peace talks between their two countries.”

He added: “We held productive military-to-military discussions which will inform the Department of State-led political track next week. ”
