Port of Beirut conducted a technical test of the first phase of its siren system on Sunday afternoon, and the operation was successful.

According to a statement from the administration of Port of Beirut, “This step is part of raising readiness levels and updating and developing the public safety systems adopted within the port's campus. It is the first experiment of its kind and comes as a continuation of the notification and statement previously issued by the administration to inform and reassure citizens.”

The administration of Port of Beirut expressed gratitude to Lebanese Civil Defense, the Beirut Fire Brigade, and the Lebanese Red Cross relief teams for their support during the test, and thanked all citizens for their understanding.

It announced that “this technical experiment will be repeated at later intervals to ensure the effectiveness of the systems.”
