UAE and India deepen strategic partnership as leaders discuss trade, AI, and regional security

The President of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, discussed various avenues for cooperation and opportunities to further strengthen it within the framework of the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” and the “Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement” between the UAE and India, in a manner that serves their mutual interests.

 

 

This came during the session of talks held by bin Zayed with the Indian Prime Minister, who is on an official visit to the UAE, during which both sides affirmed their mutual commitment to continue joint work to strengthen their developmental partnership and expand its horizons in a way that brings sustainable growth and prosperity to their peoples.

 

 

Bin Zayed and Modi reviewed the qualitative progress achieved in relations between the two countries, particularly in the areas of the economy, investment, energy, space, and food security, as well as technology and artificial intelligence, among other fields that support their mutual developmental priorities.

 

 

The two sides also exchanged views on a number of issues of common concern, particularly developments in the Middle East, which have serious implications for regional and international security and stability, as well as for international navigation security, energy supplies, and the global economy.

 

The Prime Minister of India reiterated his condemnation of the Iranian terrorist attacks targeting civilians, civilian facilities, and infrastructure in the UAE, noting that they constitute a violation of the country’s sovereignty and of international laws and norms.

 

The meeting was attended by Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi; Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense; Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President; along with several ministers and officials.

 

 

The meeting was also attended by the accompanying delegation of the Indian Prime Minister, which included a number of ministers and officials.
