Over 10,000 homes damaged or destroyed in Lebanon since ceasefire

Israeli strikes have continued in southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire, while Hezbollah says it is still carrying out attacks on Israeli targets.

More than 10,000 housing units in Lebanon have been destroyed or damaged since the ceasefire between Israel and the Iran backed Hezbollah took effect, according to the National Council for Scientific Research on Wednesday.

 

The council’s Secretary General, Chadi Abdallah, said: “Since the start of the ceasefire, from April 17 until May 8, we observed that 5,386 housing units were completely destroyed, while 5,246 housing units were damaged.”

Despite the declared ceasefire, Israel continues to carry out strikes, particularly in southern Lebanon, while Hezbollah claims attacks on Israeli targets.
