Israeli airstrikes and drone attacks in southern Lebanon leave multiple dead and wounded amid renewed regional tensions (Video)
Escalation continues across southern Lebanon and northern Israel amid renewed cross-border strikes and warnings.
Air raid sirens sounded in several cities in the northern coastal region of Israel, from the border area to the suburbs of Haifa, following the launch of projectiles from Lebanon, according to the Israeli army.

A military statement said that after the sirens were activated, several launches toward Israeli territory were detected.
It added that the Israeli Air Force intercepted one of the projectiles, while the others fell in an open area. No injuries were reported.
This is the first time since the ceasefire agreement between the Israeli army and Hezbollah in Lebanon on 17 April that sirens have been activated deep inside Israeli territory.
This comes after Israel announced the killing of a senior Hezbollah military commander in a strike on the southern suburb of Beirut on Wednesday evening.

In the afternoon, the spokesperson for the Israeli army, Avichay Adraee, renewed his urgent warning to residents of Lebanon who are present in the village of Al Abbasiyah.
Since the morning, following a warning issued to residents of southern towns, Israeli warplanes carried out airstrikes on the road between the towns of Kfar Shouba, Shaqra, Barishit, Al Abbasiyah, Aita al Jabal, Safad al Batikh, Haris, Siddiqin, Al Qulaylah, Kfar Hammam, Hadatha, Tair Falsayha, Halousieh, Deir Aames, Tura, Al Jmijmeh, Bayt al Sayyad, the area between Halousieh and Al Hamiri, Deir Qanoun Ras al Ain, and the outskirts of Zawtar al Sharqiya, Houmin al Tahta, Banafoul, and Al Zarariyeh, which resulted in two deaths.
