Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants on Tuesday condemned “in the strongest possible terms the unacceptable Iranian attacks that targeted the United Arab Emirates using missiles and drones, in a blatant violation of the sovereignty of a brotherly state, international law and the United Nations Charter, and as a serious threat to the security and stability of the region.”

In a statement, it expressed “Lebanon’s full and unwavering solidarity with the leadership, government and people of the United Arab Emirates,” affirming that “Lebanon stands by the UAE in the face of these attacks and supports its legitimate right to defend its territory, protect its security and stability, and safeguard the safety of its citizens and residents on its territory.”

The ministry renewed its emphasis on “the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all Arab states and to reject any interference in their internal affairs,” calling for “an immediate halt to these attacks in a way that preserves security and stability in the region.”

Yesterday, Monday, the UAE announced that it had detected cruise missiles coming from Iran toward the country, adding that 12 ballistic missiles, three cruise missiles and four drones were intercepted. The attack resulted in three moderate injuries.

The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned “the renewed treacherous Iranian terrorist attacks targeting civilian sites and facilities in the country using missiles and drones.”

It stressed that it “will not tolerate any threat to its security and sovereignty under any circumstances,” adding that it “reserves its full and legitimate right to respond to these attacks in a way that ensures the protection of its sovereignty, national security, territorial integrity, citizens, residents and visitors, in accordance with international law.”

Several countries expressed solidarity with the UAE, condemning the renewed Iranian targeting of its territory.
